Parents Supporting Parents Group

Alta Behavioral Healthcare may focus on children’s mental health needs, but we want to make sure the health of the whole family is taken care of. For many parents, raising a child with challenges can often leave them frustrated, scared, anxious and depressed. Sometimes they may feel that they are alone and there is no help.

Our Parent Support Group was created to join parents who are all in a similar situation. This Support Group, that takes place every third Thursday of the month at our Camp Challenge location, brings together parents who have lived experience. It’s lead and hosted by Alta Parent/Family Supporters and Alta Behavioral Healthcare staff. Made by parents, for parents.

Attending this group offers parents an outlet to share stories, challenges and gain support from one another. The parents who are hosting this group have been there and understand the nature of raising a child with challenges. They have learned to navigate various systems, like Juvenile Justice, education and Children Services. This group will help you find information and resources as well as look for ways to help strengthen the family dynamic.

The Parent Support Group helps you feel less alone when addressing or coping with your child’s challenges.

WHEN: Third Thursday of Every Month 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
