Brian Crisan, M.A.Ed., LPC
Therapist
I have been working as an outpatient therapist since 2017 and joined Alta in February 2020. My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, which were both earned at The University of Akron. I am passionate about helping people improve their mental health symptoms and with helping families have fulfilling relationships. In treatment, I favor a multifaceted approach that combines cognitive-behavioral, family systems-oriented, and experiential elements. I have received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBT-p), trauma therapy, and providing gender-affirming care. Currently, I provide services to people as part of the FIRST Program for clients with psychosis and as part of the Trauma Recovery Services team. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years serving collegiate populations in the field of public safety communications and I have attended crisis intervention training classes alongside law enforcement officers. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, watching independent films, going to concerts, and traveling.
