Casie Johnston, MSEd., LPC
Therapist / Respite Worker
I began as an intern at Alta Behavioral Healthcare starting in May 2017. One year later, in May 2018, I was hired on as a Licensed Professional Counselor, taking part in individual outpatient, family, and group counseling (specifically mindfulness and trauma). In addition, in October 2017, I became a Respite Worker, usually taking place at our Camp Challenge location. I possess a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology (2015), from Youngstown State University. I completed my Masters of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialty in children and adolescents, at Youngstown State University. I am currently conducting research on school counselors’ use and perception on technology apps for children with disabilities. In the past, I have conducted research on using iPad technology to increase vocabulary of children with reading difficulties and hope to expand my research in the future.
