I began working at Alta, September 2016 and have worked in a variety of social service settings throughout my career. I have worked in both Trumbull and Mahoning counties. Primarily my services are carried out through the Classroom Connections School-Based Therapy Program in Mahoning County. I am the facilitator of the Therapeutic Garden Program during the Summer months. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Youngstown State University and a Master of Applied Social Sciences from Case Western University’s Mandel School in Cleveland, Ohio. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Social Work.
In the past I have worked in roles such as job coach, domestic violence advocate, case management, group therapy, school-based case management, judicial advocacy, and social work services director. I have presented at the national, regional, and local levels about the development and implementation of the Garden Therapy Curriculum and Model. My areas of professional focus are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Social Skills Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and am a certified facilitator in Strengthening Families, Girl’s Circle, ENGAGE, and the Wraparound Process.
